Nick Kyrgios has provided an update on his knee injury which pulled him out of the 2023 Australian Open.
The Wimbledon runner-up took to Instagram on Monday to share a photograph of himself sticking out his middle finger in his hospital bed to confirm that he had a successful surgery and is recovering.
The surgery undergone by the Australian was an arthroscopic procedure to remove the cyst growing in his lateral meniscus, according to his physiotherapist Will Maher.
Captioning the photograph of himself, the 27-year-old wrote, "Surgery complete. I’ll be doing everything I can do to get back to my best.
"To the real ones checking in and sending the vibes…. I love you.”
The operation comes exactly one week after Kyrgios announced his decision to withdraw from the Australian Open in a press conference.
He is now hoping to be back in time for the Indian Wells Masters which commences shortly after the Australian Open.
