La Liga: Till The Last Day? Or Not?

Real Madrid, Barcelona are in the race for the La Liga trophy as the league nears its end with just 3 games left before the end of the Spanish season.

Real Madrid defeated Deportivo Alaves at Bernabeu on Friday night to go 4 points clear their internal rival on the table with three games left in the league. The Los Blancos are on an eight-match winning streak with their 2-0 win over Alaves making it the 8th in a row.

Real Madrid has won their last 4 games by a lone goal from a penalty via VAR and Friday night also had a penalty in it. Ximo Navarro brought Vinicius Junior down it the box to give away a penalty in the early minutes of the match. At exactly 11 minutes, Benzema stepped up and sent the keeper the wrong way making it 1-0 to the Zidane team.

The second half was over at the 51st minutes when Marcelo forced a counter-attack which left Benzema and Asensio with the keeper, the two exchanged pass and Alaves keeper Roberto was left on the floor as the Spanish player, Asensio slotted the ball into the net. See results

Barcelona also hosted their Catalonia counterpart at the Camp Nou on Wednesday night, the Blaugrana were free-flowing with lovely passes between them. The game was not really full of goal but we could see a more penetrating Barcelona with each pass going forward and a more energetic Griezmann

The MSG trident could not pick a better time to click if not now with the La Liga almost over and Champions league to resume. If they keep up their lovely attacking threats we could see a better Barcelona when the Champions League resumes on August 8 and they might still go on and retain their Spanish crown.

The Leader of the Spanish La Liga is Real Madrid but we do not know the winner yet, which could drag until the last day of the league but also draw from either team could see the top position changing hands with both teams determined to win the Trophy this season.
