Labour Party House Of Reps Winner Elected To Serve Not Celebrate — Deyemi Okanlawon

Labour Party House Of Reps Winner Elected To Serve Not Celeb

Nollywood actor Deyemi Okanlawon has said that Thaddeus Attah of the Labour Party who recently won the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives was elected to serve and not to celebrate his win.

On Twitter, Deyemi Okanlawon expresses his frustration with individuals who have bought their way into politics and were elected without any prior record that can be traced.

He admits to having kept quiet for a while to avoid any accusations of influencing people’s decisions but is now determined to speak out.

“Kept quiet long enough so no one accuses me of influencing their decision… then we allowed ppl get elected who have absolutely no record we can track cos they bought party form.

“I’m going to be shouting now,” he tweeted.

However, a netizen accused the actor of being unfair in his criticism of Thaddeus and not cutting him slack to celebrate his win.

Responding, Deyemi wrote; “Celebrate a win? He was elected to serve not celebrate!

“New leadership plus followers with old mentality will eventually result in old leadership. Thank you.”

This comes after Okanlawon, who disclosed that he had voted for Banky W of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his concerns about the lack of information regarding Attah’s qualifications, past precedents, and plans for the people of Eti-Osa.

According to him, many Lagosians are also in the same position, having only heard of Attah’s victory a few days ago.

The actor went on to highlight his worries about the role tribal sentiments, cyberbullying, and herd mentality had played in the electoral process.

Therefore, he extended an invitation to Attah to participate in a live Instagram conversation to address concerns and respond to questions from himself and other concerned individuals.
