Lady Delivers Baby Inside Aircraft Conveying Nigerians from


During the repatriation of some Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Wednesday, a Nigerian woman, Kafayat Amusan, was delivered of a baby boy. 

Allnews recalls the decision of the ministry of foreign affairs to evacuate over 3,000 Nigerians stranded across the globe. The Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, noted that the Federal government has charted the plans to repatriate the compatriots starting from Wednesday. 

He disclosed that the evacuation will be done in line with the guidelines issued by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to prevent importation of Covid-19. 

According to the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Amusan put to bed, on board the plane, 30 minutes after departure, which resulted in the plane returning back to Dubai after take off .

In the statement issued on Wednesday evening, it was stated that Mrs Amusan is currently on admission at a Hospital, in Dubai and the Nigerian Ambassador in Dubai, Ambassador Rimi, is touch with the family. 

NIDCOM stated that both the mother and child who are in good condition.
 
Emirates Airline had to change to another aircraft which is now en route to Lagos with 265 returnees on board.

The Chairman/CEO Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa congratulated Mrs Amusan for another addition in her family and prayed she return safely to the country.

"Dabiri-Erewa said she will return to Nigeria after obtaining a birth certificate and other necessary travel documents for her baby boy," the statement read.
