A huge fire outbreak around Ijora/Apapa occurred at Oando fuel tank on Thursday afternoon, AllNews gathered.
The fire, AllNews understands, has gutted a petroleum tank farm in Ijora Badia, a settlement in Lagos, South-West Nigeria.
Meanwhile, this online news medium can confirm that emergency response protocols have been activated by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
LASEMA in a statement signed by its Director-General, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said “all relevant stakeholders have commenced appropriate measures to combat the flames and prevent secondary incidents.
“Lagosians are urged to remain calm.”

Firefighters are still trying to put out the fire as of Friday mormning.
The fire which started around 12:20 p.m. on Thursday is still burning as at 7 a.m. on Friday morning with almost the intensity it started with.
According to LASEMA, the combined response team of public and private stakeholders has managed to localise the fire and prevent it from spreading to any secondary site or adjoining locations.
Ibrahim Farinloye, the Acting Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), earlier said staff at the facility were safely evacuated from the premises and there is no casually from the incident.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
