Hours to the Lagos State Local Government elections scheduled to hold today, Saturday, July 24, 2021, ever-busy road links in Lagos have been deserted as motorists comply with restriction of movement order by the state government.
As of 9:15 am, the ever-busy Ikotun road, Iyana Ipaja expressway inward Ikeja, Oshodi, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, among others were practically empty with only a few vehicles on essential services were seen moving in trickles.
Residents were also seen in different activities as marketplaces, plazas, and shops remained closed, while some local food vendors continued with their activities
Although in some streets, some youths were seen playing football.
Also, most of the polling booths were still deserted with very few voters around and Nigerian Redcross on-site in case.
