Lagos: Officers Were Shot By Yoruba Nation Agitators — Pol

The police have spoken on the clash between Yoruba Nation agitators in Ojota, Lagos on Monday which left two persons dead.

Chaos reigned in the aforementioned area when the agitators reportedly clashed with men believed to be members of the Oduduwa Peoples Congress.

Narrating what transpired, Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said miscreants masquerading as Yoruba nation agitators came out to disrupt activities in Ojota.

“Miscreants masquerading as Yoruba Nation Agitators” came out in their hundreds, disrupting social and commercial activities at Ojota”, he stated.

“The miscreants attacked the police, shooting, and destroying two vehicles in the process.

“One person has been confirmed dead, while two police officers shot by the miscreants are currently receiving treatment. Four suspects have been arrested and investigations have commenced", he added.

Speaking further, Hundeyin promised that the Lagos State Police Command would not let anyone disrupt the peace in the state.
