Lagos police to arraign over 1,000 suspects for robbery, ass

The Lagos State Police Command has announced plans to charge over 1,019 suspects to court on Monday for a range of offenses.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command's spokesperson, revealed this during a briefing with journalists in Lagos on Sunday.

According to Hundeyin, the suspects were apprehended between April 8th at 1:15 p.m. and April 14th at 12:50 p.m. during extensive raids of black spots across the state.

Charges will include possession of arms and ammunition, traffic robbery, assault on civilians, and possession of illicit drugs, among others.

The spokesperson said that the operatives would continue the raid in different parts of the state, warning that criminally-minded persons should avoid coming to Lagos or relocate if they were already in the state.

He commended the members of the public for the timely information given to the police about the activities of those arrested, calling for more of such information.
