The Speaker, Lagos State House Of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has called on Local Governments in the state to do more in the fight against coronavirus.
Obasa made the call via his Twitter handle on Thursday evening.
According to him, local government chairmen were not voted in to construct roads alone.
He tweeted, "The Local Governments should stand up and assist in the fight against #COVID19 . This is the time to assert yourself as leaders. You are not voted in to only construct roads, be on ground to attend to our people at the grassroot."
Obasa also urged people to try the local herbs in combating coronavirus but if it doesnt work, then, people can move on.
"We will not surrender. It is a desperate situation, yes, but we will fight. I do not want to believe that we should not test because we don’t have capacity to treat. We can try our local herbs too. If it doesn’t work then we move on, knowing ver well that we have tried", he added.
