Lagos: Third Mainland Bridge To Undergo Repairs On Sunday

The Lagos State Government has announced that rehabilitation work will be done on the Third Mainland Bridge to repair damaged parts of its asphalt sections.

The announcement was made on Saturday by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, who disclosed that the work will commence on Sunday.

Oladeinde added that there will be traffic diversions for the rehabilitation process between 9 am and 4 pm.

While expressing the readiness of the Lagos State Public Works Corporation to begin the project, he elaborated that traffic would be diverted from one lane to another lane at the identified failed asphaltic sections on the bridge.

According to him, this is expedient to solve tailbacks along the bridge at the peak periods as a result of the failed sections.

Speaking further, Oladeinde assured Lagos residents that the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be “fully” available to direct traffic to ease the inconveniences.

He also implored motorists to be patient as the measures taken will ensure quality and safe road infrastructure for everyone.
