Last Batch Of Kidnapped Yauri Students Regain Freedom

The last two girls, Faida Sani Kaoje and Safiya Idris, kidnapped from Federal Government College Birnin Yauri in Kebbi State have finally regained their freedom.

The girls were among the 11 students who were kidnapped from the school on June 17, 2021.

Four of them were released in April 2023, before three others were also released on May 7.

A daily post report says the girls took a breath of fresh air after intense talks between their captors and parents.

The parents had said the bandits demanded N100 million for the girls.

The long delay in releasing the students was due to the bandit kingpin, Dogo Gide’s insistence that some conditions be met by the Kebbi State Government.

Government is yet to make comments on the girls' release.
