LASU Students Urged Against Examination Malpractice, Others

Newly admitted students of Lagos Stute University (LASU), Ojo, have been advised against examination malpractice, indecent dressing, and other vices.

LASU's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, gave the advice on Wednesday in Lagos while charging the new Diploma students at the 2022/2023 matriculation ceremony.

The VC who was represented by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olufunso Omobitan, restated the school's commitment to maintaining its status as a student-centred institution where generational leaders are trained.

“LASU is also a place to groom great leaders as well as an institution that is focused on character development of its students.

“I enjoin the students to strive for commitment to academic excellence and abide by the rules and regulations of the institution.

“All students should shun corrupt practices, hooliganism and other vices that can expose them to danger,” she said.

In his remark, Prof. Ibrahim Bakare, the Director of LASU Consult Limited, urged the students to remain upright despite societal challenges.

Bakare stated that the consult managed 25 diploma programmes offered by the institution.

“This matriculation ceremony is the first organised for diploma students since the incorporation of LASU Consult Ltd. by the university in 2019," he added.

Also speaking, Akeem Salau, the Principal Assistant Registrar and Secretary o LASU Consult Ltd. encouraged the students against feeling inferior, stating they were equal to those running regular programmes.

Emmanuel Fanu, Registrar, LASU, administered the oath and matriculation pledge to the students, while representatives from the different faculties signed the matriculation register for the new students, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.
