LASU To Gift Best Graduating Student N500,000

The management of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo has announced that its best-graduating student will receive the sum of N500,000.

The best graduating of the institution, Imoitesemeh Yusuf, of the Department of Law, will graduate with a 5.00 CGPA.

Yusuf surpassed Divine Lopez of the Department of Physiology, Lagos State University College of Medicine, who emerged as the best-graduating student of the 2020/2021 session with a 4.91 CGPA. 

Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Vice-Chancellor of the university made this known during the convocation press conference on Wednesday.

The VC noted that the convocation would also celebrate the 40th anniversary of the university, which was founded in 1983.

Olatunji-Bello further stated that the Executive Secretary of Trust Fund, Sonny Echono would deliver the convocation lecture, titled ‘The impact of digitisation on higher education in the digital age,’ on June 20, 2023.

She added that eight distinguished Nigerians would also be awarded doctorate degrees during the event including Governor Babatunde Fashola, Oba Alayeluwa Ademola Elegushi, Dr Daniel Olukoya, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, Oba Suleiman Ashade and Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire.
