Late Ajibola's Body Arrives Home For Burial

The body of the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Bola Ajibola has arrived his residence at the Olusegun Obasanjo Hilltop Estate, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

He died in the early hours of Sunday, April 9, 2023.

The deceased’s body and family members from Lagos, where he passed away, came on an Ebony Cascade bus at around 10:50am.

The renowned jurist and founder of Crescent University in Abeokuta, Nigeria, as well as a former judge of the International Court of Justice in the Hague, Netherlands, passed away at the age of 89.

Ajibola, between 1984 and 1985, served as the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) president. 

In addition, he served as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom from 1999 to 2002 and was one of the five Commissioners on the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission, which was established by the Permanent Court of Arbitration. 

According to reports, the revered legal pioneer who founded Crescent University in Abeokuta passed away in a hospital in Lagos following a protracted illness brought on by advancing age.

This was revealed in a statement made on Sunday in Abeokuta by Segun Ajibola, the late lawyer’s eldest child.

He has already been buried at the Islamic Mission for Africa (IMA) Isale Apata, Olorunsogo, off Abiola way, Abeokuta according to Islamic rite.
