Late Asma'u: Yahaya Commiserates With Sheikh Tukur's Family

The Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has commiserated with Sheikh Bello Tukur's family over the death of Nana Asma'u.

Late Asma'u died aged 90 after a brief illness.

The governor visited the family and expressed his condolences to the family on Tuesday. 

Yahaya was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.

During the visit, he said though the death of a loved one is painful, as people of faith, they should take solace in the fact that death is inevitable on all mortals.

He further prayed to Allah to grant the deceased Aljannatul Firdausi and grant the family the fortitude to bear the painful loss.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday signed by Joshua Danmalam, information officer at the SSG's office.

He described the loss as a great one to the family, the Muslim community and Gombe state. 

Responding on behalf of the family, Malam Muntaka Sheikh Modibbo Tukur, appreciated the governor for idenfying with them at their moment of grief and wished him God's guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.

Representing the governor, the SSG led a powerful government delegation which included Commissioners, Special Advisers, Special Assistants, Directors and APC chieftain, Alhaji Buba Sheru.
