Nigerian Scientists Develop Cheaper, Faster COVID-19 Test Kits

In response to the need for a faster and cheaper COVID-19 testing, Nigerian scientists have developed COVID-19 kits that meet that need.

The Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), Babatunde Salako, said that the kits would give results in less than 40 minutes. Read more here.

Total COVID-19 Cases In Africa Hits 1.5 Million - Africa CDC

The Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) has revealed that the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases on the continent is 1.5 million.

Mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio, has announced plans to shut down nine neighbourhoods, as COVID-19 cases in the city see a spike.

US Election 2020: Biden Criticises Trump's Coronavirus Comment

Democratic White House hopeful Joe Biden on Monday castigated Donald Trump for saying Americans should not be afraid of Covid-19 or let it “dominate your life,” even after the president tested positive for coronavirus.

“I saw a tweet he did, they showed me, he said ‘don’t let COVID control your life,'” Biden told Florida news station Local 10 as he campaigned in the key battleground state. Read more here.
