The Job Creation and Empowerment Initiative of the Social Investment Programme of the Nigerian Government has attributed the non-payment of three-month stipends to some N-Power beneficiaries to the 'flagging by the GIFMIS platform for several reasons'.

On May 23, 2020, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development announced that it is working to streamline the N-Power scheme "for greater efficiency and to provide opportunities for more Nigerian youths".
