President Tinubu Threatened With Legal Action Over Missing Subsidy Payments

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to probe the allegations that $2.1 billion and N3.1 trillion in public funds from oil revenues and budgeted as fuel subsidy payments went missing and unaccounted for between 2016 and 2019.

Speaking in a letter dated June 3, 2023, SERAP Deputy Director, Kolawole Oluwadare urged the president to expose and shame those responsible for the widespread and systemic corruption in the use of oil revenues and the management of public funds budgeted as fuel subsidies. Read more here.

Police Reveals Official Casualty Figures In Sokoto Attack

Police in Sokoto State has confirmed the death of 30 persons during an attack by group of armed men in Tangaza Local Government Area of the state.

A statement issued by the acting police Spokesman in the state, ASP Ahmad Rufai, on Sunday said the gunmen attacked Raka, Bilingawa, Raka Dutse, Jaba, Dabagi and Tsalewa villages of the local government on Saturday. Read more here.
