Rivers Pastor To Die By Hanging For Impregnating, Killing Chorister

A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has sentenced the General Overseer of a church in Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, Chidiebere Okoroafor to death by hanging.

The priest was sentenced on Monday for killing three people, including the choir mistress of his church, whom he impregnated. Read more here.

Health Workers Suspend Indefinite Strike

Health workers under the aegis of Joint Health Sector Unions (JOHESU) and Assembly of Healthcare Professional Associations have suspended its indefinite strike for 21 days.

Strike: Bolt, Uber, Others To Join NLC

E-hailing companies BoltUber, Rida, and Indriver, among others, have said that their drivers will join the Nigeria Labour Congress' (NLCscheduled strike action beginning on June 7th. 

Drivers affiliated with the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transport Workers of Nigeria (AUATWON) advised all of their members to stop providing services as of the specified date because the e-hailing companies have turned down their demand for a 200% price increase on their platforms. Tunisian seventh seed Ons Jabeur has moved into the French Open quarter-finals for the first time on Monday.

As a result of plans concluded by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to proceed on industrial action to protest the unilateral removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government, the National Industrial Court (NIC) has handed down a restraining order to the unions.

Russia Claims To Thwart Ukrainian Offensive In Donetsk, Reports Casualties, Destruction

Russia has announced that its forces successfully foiled a major Ukrainian offensive in the Donetsk region, resulting in the deaths of 250 Ukrainian troops and the destruction of tanks and armoured vehicles.

The Russian defence ministry revealed this information on Monday, stating that the enemy launched a large-scale offensive in five sectors of the front in the South Donetsk direction on June 4. Read more here.
