Some Lagos-based lawyers on Friday opposed a bill proposed by theSenate seeking a 15-year jail term for any person found guilty of paying ransom to kidnappers.

Reps To FG: Stop Planned Increment Of Electricity Tariff

The House of Representatives has urged the Federal Government to stop the proposed increase of the electricity tariff for June.

The Nigeria Police Command in Niger has confirmed that some gunmen on Thursday killed Alhaji Bashar Namaska, the son of the Emir of Kontagora.

IMEI: Nigerians To Provide Phone Identities To FG In July

It has been announced by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) that citizens and residents would soon be required to submit the International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) of their phones in July 2021.

Per a Pulse report, the information is contained in the commission's revised National Identity Policy for SIM card registration and reportedly has the backing of President Muhammadu Buhari.  Read more here.

COVID-19: UEFA Projects Over €8 Billion Loss For Top Flight Clubs

European soccer's governing body UEFA has reported an expected loss of more than 8 billion euros by top-flight clubs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The report showed 4 billion euros were lost in gate receipts, 2.7 billion euros in sponsorship, and 1.4 billion euros in broadcast revenue. Read more here.
