African Union: President Buhari, First Lady Depart For Summit In Guinea

President Muhammadu Buhari and the First Lady, Aisha Buhari departed Abuja on Thursday to participate in the African Union Extra-ordinary Session of Assembly of Heads of State and Government in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, with a special focus on security.

Per reports, the president's chopper left the State House helipad at about 03:30 pm for the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Read more here.

APC Suspends State Assembly Primaries

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended the State House Assembly primaries in Nasarawa State over alleged tampering with the authentic list of delegates in the state.

Dr John Mamman, Nasarawa State APC chairman, in a press conference on Friday in Lafia, said the party was sad after discovering that the authentic list of delegates sent the National Secretariat for the party primaries has been tampered with. Read more here.

ASUU Strike: N34 Billion From FG Not What We Asked For — Union

The National President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke has said the N34 billion released by the Federal Government for the payment of minimum wage adjustment arrears was not one of the union's demands.

A source has disclosed why the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Godwin Emefiele withdrew the suit he filed against the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Attorney-General of the Federation over his presidential ambition.

FBN Holdings Plc Records N151.079 Billion Profit

For the financial year ended December 31, 2021, a profit after tax of N151.079 billion has been recorded by FBN Holdings Plc, which indicates a 99.86% growth over N89.730 billion reported in 2020.

As against the N83.703 recorded in 2020, profit before tax stood at N166.662 billion equally representing a 99.11% increase. Read more here.

Lucid Motors has issued a recall for 1,117 Air EVs specific to the ethernet wiring harness for the Glass Cockpit instrument panel.

The Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa has restrained the Federal Government from issuing licences on marginal oilfields in the Niger Delta pending the determination of a pending suit.

Russian Central Bank Lowers Interest Rates To 11 Percent

The Central Bank of Russia on Thursday lowered its interest rates to 11% at an off-scheduled policy meeting, saying saw room for more cuts this year.

The bank has been gradually reversing an emergency rate hike to 20% in late February that was triggered by Russia's Feb. 24 move to send tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine and the imposition of Western sanctions in response. Read more here.

The Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Stella Oduah has given the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) 48 hours to retract the allegation that she did not complete her national service.
