May 29: FCT Security Beefed Up Ahead Of Tinubu's Inauguration

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has stated that human and material resources have been deployed across the region to ensure that the Presidential inauguration on May 29 goes on smoothly.

Speaking in a statement issued by the command’s Spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh on Friday morning, it was revealed that the deployment consists of all intelligence and tactical assets at the command’s disposal, solidified with inter-agency collaboration. Read more here.

Presidential Inauguration: FG Declares Monday Public Holiday

As part of preparations ahead of the May 29 inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu, the Federal Government (FG) has declared Monday a public holiday for all workers.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Interior, Dr Shuiab Belgore in a statement on Friday noted that the declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola on behalf of the Federal Government. Read more here.

This is coming after incumbent Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje directed political Office holders to hand over Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to leave office on or before May 26 to permanent secretaries, directors of administration and general services or directors of personnel management, as the case may be. Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabi'u Musa Kwankwaso, on Friday, commissioned the new Ungwan Rimi Market and the nearby School and Emir Roads in Kaduna.

Teenage Househelp Pushes Man To Death After Pestering Her For Sex

Officers at the Fort Portal Central Police Station (CPS), Uganda, are investigating circumstances under which a teenager working as a house help pushed a man down leading to his death after he pestered her for sex.

According to the Rwenzori West regional police spokesperson, Vincent Twesige, it is alleged that on Tuesday at around 5:00 p.m., the deceased identified as Ismail Kabuye, 24, a casual worker, kept pestering her for sex, which allegedly prompted her fatal move. Read more here.
