The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has called on President Mohammadu Buhari and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to immediately set machineries in motion for effective prosecution of the Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola over the multi-billion Naira property scandal involving him and his cronies.

The party also demanded the immediate refund of all wages and allowances paid to Oyetola during his time as Chief of Staff to his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola as it has been revealed that the former had violently disobeyed extant laws of the land while he fraudulently held the office of Chief of Staff to the then state governor. Kwara Government To Appeal Ruling As Court Sacks LG Transition Committee

A Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin has declared the Transition Implementation Committees across the 16 local government areas of the state as illegal.

The court also ordered for the conduct of proper election to usher in new executives.

While delivering his judgement on Friday in a suit filed by Elite Network for Sustainable Development (ENTSUD), Justice Hassan Gegele said the appointment of Transition Committees to run the affairs of the third tier of government was against the provision of Section 7, Sub-Section 1 of the Constitution.READ MORE

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) says the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited had made history for being the company with the highest share capital in the country.

Airtel Africa Announces Plan To Buy Back Minority Shareholding

Airtel Africa has announced that its subsidiary, Airtel Networks Ltd., (Airtel Nigeria) has initiated a process to buy back 8.27 percent minority shareholdings at N55.81 per share.

The Group Company Secretary, Simon O’Hara, disclosed in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Lagos.

The statement noted that the total consideration was estimated to be N61.24 billion (using an exchange rate of N413.38) assuming all minority shareholders decide to tender their shares. READ MORE

Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State has described as unfounded and untrue, the report linking him to the purchase of a property in London, United Kingdom.

This was made known in a statement by Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary to the Osun State Governor and made available to AllNews Nigeria on Saturday.

Actor Chiwetalu Agu Rearrested By DSS

Reports reveal that Nollywood star Chiwetalu Agu who was just released by the Nigerian Army has been rearrested by men of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The actor was first detained a few days ago after he was spotted in IPOB regalia. Viral video clips had shown him being manhandled by the soldiers who apprehended him.
