The Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi has condemned the killing of two farmers after a clash with herders in Isaba, Ikole Local Government Area of the State.

2. #InternationalWomensDay2021: Buhari Celebrates Women Appointees In His Administration

As the world celebrates the achievement of women and creates awareness of gender equality every March 8, President Muhammadu Buhari has also joined others to celebrate International Women's Day by releasing lists of women he has honoured with appointments.

4. Kwara Extends Closure Of 10 Schools Over Hijab Controversy

Kwara State Government on Monday announced the extension of the closure of 10 Government Secondary Schools in Ilorin, where the use of hijab is disputed till further notice.

5. Stop Playing Politics Over Farmers’ Death, Flush Out Criminals – PDP Tells Fayemi

Following the killings of two farmers: Mr. Toyin Akeju, known as Jisoro and Mr. Yusuf Onuche by suspected Fulani herdsmen, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti to compel the leaders of herders in the state to fish out the farmers’ killers.

7. Oil Billionaire Rokke Backs Bitcoin, Launches New Bitcoin Company

Norwegian oil billionaire Kjell Inge Rokke has come out strongly in support of Bitcoin, betting that the cryptocurrency will prove the best defense against the disruption facing the finance industry and central banking.

Rokke's Oslo stock exchange-listed company Aker announced on Monday that it has set up a new company, Seetee AS, dedicated to investing in bitcoin projects and companies. Aker has acquired half a billion Norwegian kroner ($58 million) worth of bitcoin and put it all into the treasury reserves of its new entity, making Seetee a 100 percent bitcoin-valued company. 9. Crude Oil Spikes Above $70 Per Barrel For The First Time In 14 Months

Oil prices surged above $70 a barrel for the first time since the pandemic began after Saudi Arabia, the world’s top oil exporter, said its energy facilities had been attacked on Sunday, targeting “the security and stability” of global supplies.

Brent crude futures for May hit $71.38 a barrel in early Asian trade, the highest since Jan. 8, 2020, and were at $70.56 a barrel by 08:30 WAT, up by $1.20, or 1.7 percent. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude for April rose $1.08, or 1.6 percent, to $67.17. The front-month WTI price touched $67.98 a barrel earlier, the highest since October 2018. Read more here.

American multinational technology company, Google has declared $25 million in grants as part of International Women's Day Celebration programme to non-profits and social enterprises globally, which is dedicated to empowering girls and women.
