Bandits Have Lost Right To Live, Must Be Wiped Out – El-Rufai

Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State says bandits terrorizing Nigeria have lost their rights to life under the constitution and must be wiped out.

El-Rufai made this known during a town hall meeting on national security on Thursday organized by the Ministry of Information and Culture held in Kaduna with the theme: "Setting Benchmark for Enhanced and National Unity in Nigeria”. Read more here.

Edo 2020 Sports Festival: Nigerian Authorities Address Cancellation Concerns

The Ministry of Youth and Sports says the Edo 2020 National Sports Festival (NSF) will go on, despite threats by the Local Organizing Commitee (LOC).

The LOC had on Wednesday said it will discontinue the country's mini-Olympics due to paucity of funds, and lack of financial commitment from the Federal Government. Read more here.

UTME: JAMB Set To Clamp Down On Fraudulent Tutorial Centers, Others

JAMB is set to clamp down on some cybercafes and tutorial centers that specialize in defrauding unsuspecting candidates during registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

The English Police on Wednesday confirmed the body of a man found in a lake in Epping Forest, Essex, is that of missing 19-year-old Richard Okorogheye.

Katsina: Four Bandit Leaders Surrender, Give Up Arms And Rustled Cattle

Four bandits in Katsina surrendered on Thursday, giving up arms which include AK assault rifles, and 45 rustled cattle.

The four bandit leaders were identified as Sale Turwa, Mani Turwa, Ado Sarki, and Sani Mai-Daji. They were reportedly taking shelter in the thick forest of Illela in the Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State. Read more here.

T-Mobile Introduces Wireless Home Internet, Free Phones

T-Mobile US Inc. has introduced a 5G wireless home broadband service and a free-phone giveaway as it trying to take the lead over other competitors.

The company announced that starting from Wednesday, people in selected areas can sign up for a $60-a-month internet service with average speeds of 100 megabits per second. The service requires a combination receiver/Wi-Fi gateway device near a window. Read more here.

PDP Southwest Congress Postponed, Venue Moved To Osogbo

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, has postponed its Southwest Zonal Congress to Monday, April 12, 2021.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the NWC also communicated that the next congress will be held in Osogbo, the Osun state capital instead of Ibadan. Read more here.

Ghanaian actress Cinderella Blonde, popularly known as Kasawale, has disclosed how she was almost introduced to a mermaid by her ex-boyfriend who she says is possessed with 77 spirits.

President Buhari’s Late Driver Not Detained Or Tortured To Death – DSS

The Department of State Services (DSS) has said that the late official driver to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Sa’idu Afaka, was not detained or tortured by the service before his death.

A statement by Dr. Peter Afunanya, the DSS Public Relations Officer on Thursday in Abuja, said that reports in some section of the media that the department tortured the late driver to death was misleading information.

Church Of England Set To Return Benin Bronze Statues

The Church of England has made a promise to return two Benin Bronzes to Nigeria amid the increasing row over the restoration of African treasures.

According to the Evening Standard, Lambeth Palace said it was presently engaged in "discussions" over the return of the artworks which were presented as gifts to the then Archbishop of Canterbury Robert Runcie nearly four decades ago. Read more here.
