2023: Dele Momodu To Battle Atiku, Others For Presidential Ticket

Media mogul Otunba Dele Momodu has declared his intention to run for the 2023 presidency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Momodu indicated his interest while handing a letter to the PDP National Chairman at the party’s secretariat in Abuja on Thursday, January 13, 2022.

According to Momodu, the move became necessary because he can't run for the presidency without the nomination of his party.

President Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun Pay Condolence Visit To Shonekan's Family

President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday visited the Lagos residence of the Head of the Interim National Government during the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, the late Chief Ernest Shonekan, to commiserate with the deceased's family.

Buhari was accompanied to the Lugard Avenue, Ikoyi's residence of the late Shonekan by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Ogun and Yobe State counterparts, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mai Mala Buni.

Nigerians React As FG Lifts Twitter Ban

After seven months of Nigerians using Virtual Private Network (VPN) to assess the microblogging app, Twitter, the Federal Government of Nigeria has finally lifted the ban on the operations of Twitter in the country.

This news was met by tweeps with mockery and a little bit of indifference.

Some tweeps accuse the government of incompetence as the ban yielded no result whatsoever. It was also stated that the ban was not effective as tweeps devised others means to access the microblogging with VPN which changes the user's location.

Aregbesola, Pantami To Arrive Osun For National Digital Centre Launch

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has expressed excitement at the proposed unveiling of a Digital National Centre by Professor Isah Pantami and Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola slated to hold in Ilesa, Osun State, on Friday, January 14, 2022.

School Sanctions 14 Students Over Sexual Assault

The College of Education (COE) Akwanga, Nasarawa State has ordered fourteen (14) Students to repeat the compulsory 'teaching practice' over their involvement in various offences during the period. 

According to a memo dated January 10th, 2022 and made available to newsmen on Thursday, the offences include sexual assault, truancy and abscondment. 

The decision was taken during an emergency meeting of the institution's Academic Board.

Nasarawa Youth Council Appoints New Chairman, Deputy

 An aide to the Governor of Nasarawa State, Mallam Ja'afar Loko has unanimously emerged the new Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Nasarawa State branch.
