Shell Shuts Floating Crude Oil Storage Facility Over Water Leakage

Shell Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel operating off the coast of Bayelsa has been stopped due to a water leak, an official has disclosed.

The vessel has been securely secured for repairs, according to Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC) spokesman Michael Adande, who announced this in a statement on Thursday. Read more here.

NUPRC Adopts New Strategy For Managing Acres, Leasing

In order to meet the goals outlined by the Petroleum Industry Act, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) says it would take a fresh approach to the administration of licences and leases, particularly with regard to acreage allotment (PIA).

Authority Begins Review Of Petroleum Regulations

The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has started a review of the midstream and downstream petroleum rules to leave the industry legislation and policies that will encourage investment in the industry.

Chief Timipre Sylva, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, stated at the NMDPRA stakeholder engagement event on regulations on Monday in Abuja that the regulations had been shared with stakeholders for evaluation and input. Read more here.
