The President, Dangote GroupAlhaji Aliko Dangote, has said the coming on stream of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery would expose Nigeria’s midstream and downstream sectors to the international markets.

Dangote said the refinery being constructed in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos would guarantee the availability of high-quality environmentally compliant products in Nigeria, regional markets in West Africa, Southern Africa and inter-continental markets. Read more here.

Military Destroys 40 Illegal Refineries, Impounds Illegal Products

Troops of Operation Octopus Grip and those of Operation Delta Safe have discovered and destroyed 40 illegal refineries in the Niger Delta region in the last two weeks.

Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.-Gen. Bernard Onyeuko, said this in Abuja on Thursday while briefing newsmen about military operations in different theatres between May 19 and June 2. Read more here.

Nigeria’s Crude Oil Production Increases By 70,000bpd – Reuters Survey

Nigerian crude oil production grew by 70,000 barrels per day in May, according to a Reuters survey issued on Tuesday.

According to the document obtained by the Nigerian News Agency (NAN) in Lagos, the country's crude oil production averaged 1.42 million barrels per day in May. Read more here.

Diesel Prices Continue To Rise In Nigeria As Oil Prices Soar Above $122 Per Barrel

The price of crude oil has surged to over $121 per barrel on Monday evening as the price of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO), known as diesel, continued to rise in Nigeria.

The rise in global crude oil prices comes as supplies of refined products such as diesel remain tight at a time when demand is expected to pick up in the United States and many other countries, owing to lower exports of the product from Russia, which has been sanctioned by Western countries as a result of its invasion of Ukraine.
