The latest transfer deals from 6th July 2021 includes Arsenal's Matteo Guendouzi move from Arsenal to Marseille as the Frenchman returns to France while Junior Firpo moves from Barcelona to Leeds United.

Guendouzi Joins Marseille

Arsenal midfielder Matteo Guendouzi, who spent last year at Hertha Berlin, has joined Marseille on loan, the French Ligue 1 club announced on Tuesday.

Marseille signed the 22-year-old Frenchman on a one-year deal with an option to buy.

Guendouzi made his Ligue 1 debut for Lorient in 2016 before joining Arsenal two years later.

He made 82 appearances for the Gunners, scoring one goal and came off the bench in the 2019 Europa League final against Chelsea.

Guendouzi scored twice in 24 appearances for Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin last season.

He was called up by France coach Didier Deschamps as cover for Paul Pogba for two Euro 2020 qualifiers but was an unused substitute.

Guendouzi's arrival comes three days after Marseille signed Argentina defender Leonardo Balerdi on a permanent basis.

Balerdi, who joined on loan from  Borussia Dortmund last summer, has signed a five-year deal.

Marseille had already extended the contract of Spanish centre-back Alvaro Gonzalez and signed young US winger Konrad de la Fuente from Barcelona as well as Brazilian midfielder Gerson from Flamengo.

Junior Firpo Joins Leeds United From Barcelona

Leeds have completed the signing of fullback Junior Firpo from Barcelona, the two clubs announced on Tuesday.

Leeds boasted on their website that they had "beaten off competition from a number of clubs to secure the services of the 24-year-old."

The Premier League club said that, after completing quarantine and a medical, the player had signed a four-year contract on Tuesday.

Leeds did not disclose the fee, but Barcelona said the English club had paid 15 million euros (£12.8 million, $17.75 million).

In 2019, Barcelona paid Betis a reported 18 million euros plus add-ons for Firpo.

Barcelona stressed on their website that they would receive 20 per cent from any future sale of the player.

Leeds were seeking a left-sided defender after Ezgjan Alioski turned down a new contract. The North Macedonian, who joined Leeds in 2017, made 36 Premier League appearances last season.

Firpo is Leeds' third summer signing.

The club turned winger Jack Harrison's loan spell from Manchester City into a permanent move and bought teenage winger Amari Miller from Birmingham.

Bayern Munich Loan Kiwi Singh To Second Tier Regensburg

Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich said on Tuesday that they have loaned New Zealand midfielder Sarpreet Singh to second-tier side Jahn Regensburg for the coming season.

The 22-year-old All Whites attacking midfielder broke into the Bayern team from the reserves in early 2019-20, making two appearances in Germany's top flight.

Last season, he was loaned out to second-tier Nuremberg, returning midway through the campaign after only five starts, and has played for Bayern's reserves in the third division since February.

Auckland-born Singh was the first player of Indian origin to play in the Bundesliga. He said he was looking forward to the challenge of Germany's second tier.

Brighton Sign Mwepu From RB Salzburg

Brighton & Hove Albion have signed Zambia international midfielder Enock Mwepu from reigning Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg on a four-year deal, the club announced on their official website.

The 23-year-old becomes Graham Potter's first signing ahead of the 2021/22 Premier League campaign, which will be Albion's fifth consecutive year in the top-flight.

Zambian international, he was nicknamed 'The Computer' by Red Bull fans, based on his ability to read the game.

He made 81 league appearances over his four years at the Red Bull Arena, scoring 11 goals and laying on nine assists, while also playing in every one of their Champions League group stage games last season.

Mwepu was also on the scoresheet in this year's OFB-Cup Final, grabbing a goal and an assist in a 3-0 win over LASK.

Atletico Madrid Sign Thembi Kgatiana

Banyana Banyana forward, Thembi Kgatlana has joined Atletico Madrid on a two-year deal from SD Eibar.

The 25-year-old South African international was named best African player in 2018.

Trained at the University of the Western Cape, in 2018 she travelled to the United States to join the ranks of the Houston Dash, a team in which she stayed for a season until signing for Beijing BG Phoenix and later for Benfica.

In 2020 he made the leap to the Spanish league by joining the SD Eibar squad, the team from which she joins from.
