Latest Transfer: Ramos Set To Join PSG

Spaniard defender Sergio Ramos is set to join Paris Saint-Germain with a 2-year deal on the table which will see the former Real Madrid skipper at Paris till 2023.

The deal could also involve a year extension depending on his performance. Ramos is a golden goose while PSG will be considered smart to secure his services as the veteran center-back has experience in the backline something the Parisians have been missing since the departure of Thiago Silva.

Real Madrid could not convince the former Sevilla man to stay with no agreement reach on the wages and contract extension and now he is a free agent to negotiate with any club of his choosing.

According to Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, Sergio Ramos's brother Rene was in Paris on Thursday to complete the agreement and now prepare all the paperwork.

Paris Saint-Germain approached Sergio Ramos's agent in January, after opening talks in April they’ve been offering him a two-year contract as Sergio always wanted.

PSG's Signing Spree

The loss of Ligue 1 top spot to Lille OSC has spurned the PSG into action ahead of the 2021-22 campaign. Ramos will be the 4th signing -- with Gini Wijnaldum already in the book, Donnarumma in the process, Hakimi Achraf near completion.

Despite the coronavirus's economic impact on clubs, PSG have been able to secure relevant players that would make them competitive locally and in Europe.

These players would have cost a fortune if the transfer was done 2 years ago but they have been able to secure them on free transfers.

The only player they paid a transfer fee on is Hakimi Achraf from Inter Milan.

Mauricio Pochettino now has enough players to push for European glory.
