Inter Milan secured their ninth Coppa Italia title after defeating Fiorentina 2-0 in the final held at the Stadio Olimpico.

The victory marks another milestone in a highly successful season for the Italian giants, who have also retained the Italian Supercup and are now set to compete in the highly anticipated Champions League final against Manchester City next month.

The match kicked off with Inter demonstrating their prowess on the field, with Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez leading the charge.

Martinez showcased his clinical finishing skills, first levelling the score in the 29th minute with a precise shot from a tight angle.

He then followed up with an impressive close-range volley that soared into the back of the net just eight minutes later, putting Inter firmly in the lead.

While Fiorentina made valiant efforts to regain their footing in the game, they struggled to break through Inter's solid defence.

Goalkeeper Pietro Terracciano displayed his shot-stopping abilities by pulling off a remarkable double save, denying Romelu Lukaku's powerful strike and Federico Dimarco's ensuing follow-up.

Despite a few tense moments, Inter Milan held firm and comfortably fended off Fiorentina's attempts to equalize.

The victory prompted jubilant celebrations among the players and fans alike, who revelled in the team's continued success and trophy-laden legacy.

Speaking after the match, Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi expressed his delight with the team's achievements and emphasized their focus on maintaining their winning momentum.

"We have the final two Serie A games, then Istanbul and a great season we want to keep going," Inzaghi stated.

Lautaro Martinez, who played a pivotal role in securing the Coppa Italia, also expressed his joy and dedication to the club.

"In all honesty, I am moved because, for a few years, we have been bringing trophies to this great club, and we must continue like this. I am very happy," said Martinez.

He further emphasized his desire to keep the trophy in Milan, referring to the city's status as the reigning Coppa Italia champions from the previous year.

With the Coppa Italia triumph now behind them, Inter Milan's attention turns to their upcoming clash with English Premier League champions Manchester City in the Champions League final.

Set to take place on June 10, the match promises to be a tantalizing battle between two of Europe's footballing powerhouses.
