Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH) in the early hours of Friday held its 14th special combined convocation ceremony with dignitaries in attendance.
The acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Professor Mojeed Liasu, on Tuesday announced that the 24,704 students will graduate from the institution, with 753 bagging first-class degrees.
Prof. Abdulrasheed Abubakar, the Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), represented by the NUC Director of Studies, Bassey Essien, commended the achievements of the university within the period of being owned solely by the government of Oyo State.
The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Prof. Ayodeji Omole, urged the graduating students to stay focused as they journey on and keep representing the university well.
Omole praised the State Governor, Seyi Makinde for his effective style of leadership, even in running the university.
The acting VC of the university also said Governor Makinde's generosity and belief in functional education have helped the institution thus far.
