LAUTECH Orders Staff, Students To Resume Amid ASUU Strike

The management of Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho has ordered the staff and students of the institution to resume academic activities, ignoring the ongoing Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.

The administration in a statement signed by LAUTECH's Registrar, Kayode Ogunleye on Thursday, requested the staff and students of the institution to resume academic activities on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

The statement added that the resumption would be for the continuation of the first semester of the 2021/2022 session, adding that the amended academic calendar would be made available soon.

LAUTECH had joined the ongoing ASUU strike which commenced in February 2022.

The Coordinator of the Ibadan Zone of ASUU, yesterday said LAUTECH would not pull out of the strike until the demands of the union were met.

The order given by the management of LAUTECH is against the stand of the striking lecturers.

“Upon the directive of the Visitor to the University, the Management hereby informs all staff and students that the University will continue its academic activities for the First Semester of the 2021/2022 Academic Session on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

“The amended Academic Calendar for the semester will soon be made available.

“Staff and students are hereby enjoined to abide by this directive," the statement read.
