The Zamfara State Police command have confirmed the kidnapping of five people in Magarya village in the early hours of Thursday.
Alhaji Ma'azu Magarya, father of the Zamfara State House of Assembly Speaker was among the Kidnapped persons.
Bandits armed with sophisticated weapons who invaded the village were reported to have abducted them.
Confirming the incident, the Spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, SP Shehu Mohammed announced the occurrence to journalists in the state.
He stated that the command has deployed additional troops to the affected area to ensure the safe return of the victims.
Radio Nigeria also reported that the incident was confirmed by the Director General Media and Communication of the state House of Assembly in Gusau.
