Laycon Hits 1 Million Followers On Twitter

President of the Icons and Big Brother Naija season 5 winner, Laycon, has once again given his fans bragging rights as he hits 1 million followers on Twitter.

Of all the lockdown gengs, he is the first to achieve this feat. This is not the first record he’ll be breaking. He became the first housemate to be verified on Instagram. While still in the house, he reached 1 million followers on Instagram, the first in the history of the show. The rapper, alongside fellow housemate, Kiddwaya, became the first set of housemates to get verification on Twitter.

Asides from numerous endorsement deals, Laycon started his own reality TV Show, ‘I Am Laycon’ on ShowMax which is currently streaming in 26 countries outside Africa, including the United Kingdom, Italy, France and Germany.

In celebration, his fanbase, ‘Icons’ took over Twitter to trend ‘Congratulations Laycon’ and #1millionTwitterIcons. The trend has garnered over 130k tweets altogether.

Recall some weeks ago, fans of Laycon and Tacha clashed on Twitter, debating about which one of the celebrities would reach the 1 million mark first.

When Tacha saw the argument, she said that there is no need to pitch one person against another. She added that the sky is big enough for everyone.
