Leeds Utd Appoint Farke As Manager To Lead Promotion Race

Daniel Farke

Leeds United have appointed former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke as their new manager to help lead a quick return back to the Premier League.

The now Championship club announced the signing of Farke on a four-year contract with their sight set on a quick recovery from their relegation slumber.

The 46-year-old German coach takes the reins from Sam Allardyce, who departed the club following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.

Allardyce had joined Leeds with only four games remaining, but the club and the manager reached a mutual agreement to part ways.

Farke returns to the English second tier after an unsuccessful spell in Germany with Borussia Moenchengladbach, having previously managed Norwich City from 2017 to 2021.

During his tenure, he led the Canaries to promotion to the Premier League in his second season.

Although Norwich suffered relegation back to the Championship in the 2019-20 season, Farke guided the team to win the Championship title and secure an immediate return to the top flight in the 2020-21 campaign.

Joining Farke at Leeds will be Eddie Riemer as his assistant, along with Christopher John and Chris Domogalla, who will also join the coaching team.

The trio previously worked together at Norwich, and their collective experience and expertise are expected to strengthen Leeds' coaching staff.
