Leipzig Appoint Marco Rose As New Manager

German tactician Marco Rose is appointed as RB Leipzig's manager, and the deal could be ready in the next few hours, according to transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano.

The former Dortmund manager could play his former side if the deal is done in the next few hours.

Rose 45, has enjoyed several spells in Germany including time at Mainz 05 and Borussia Monchengladbach.

During his playing days, he started his career as a defender at Leipzig.

He described his basic idea of football as "emotionality, hunger and being active". 

"We want to be very active against the ball, sprint a lot. We want to win high balls and have short ways to the goal. We don't want to play high and wide, but fast, dynamic and actively forward."

He has stated his preference for a 4–4–2 diamond, saying "I've always played a diamond when I've had the opportunity to do it, bringing in two strikers. Even when we play with all three up front, our system is something like a diamond.

However, he has also used 4–3–3 and 4–2–3–1 formations at Mönchengladbach."
