Leipzig Offer Nkunku Two-Year Deal After Brilliant Season

French midfielder Christopher Nkunku has been offered a two-year contract extension by RB Leipzig after a brilliant season which saw him win the Bundesliga best player award.

Nkunku 24, has agreed to the deal which puts him at the Red Bull outfit till 2026.

He has been speculated to be heading to Manchester United but no Champions League football is not what he would want to go for given Leipzig finished 4th and would be heading to Europe's elite competition.

The new deal has taken his release clause to 51 million euros which would take effect in 2023.

Nkunku claimed the Bundesliga best player of the season award for 2021-22 ahead of top scorer Robert Lewandowski and goal machine Erling Haaland.

He scored 36 goals with 16 assists in all competitions including a hattrick to become the first Leipzig player to score 3 goals in the Champions League against Manchester City losing 6-3 to Manchester City.
