The aftermath of last week's Lekki Massacre seems not to have an end in sight just yet as former Lagos State governor and current Minister for Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola has handed over to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu a discovered hidden camera at the Lekki Toll Gate, Admiralty Circle, in Lagos State.
Fashola who made the discovery on Sunday during an on the spot assessment at the scene of the incident, led a Federal Government delegation to commiserate with the governor following the loss of lives and destruction of properties that ensued both during and after the Lekki shootings on Tuesday.
The minister who handed over the mysterious camera said that forensic analysis will be done on it as well as a thorough investigation. He added that the camera must have been planted by some subversive elements prior to the reported shootings for ulterior motives.
The minister, who used a handkerchief to pick up the camera before handing it over, stated, “I think this will help with the ongoing investigations into the shootings at the Lekki Toll Gate. It requires forensic analysis and could be used in the investigations to unravel the mystery behind the shootings at the Toll Gate, I believe.”
The visit, which was under the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari had in entourage: the Ministers of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Mines, and Industries, Olamilekan Adegbite, Niyi Adebayo, Trade and Investments, and Olorunnibe Mamora, Health state.
Others in attendance are some South-West Governors such as Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State and Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
