Lekki Shooting: We Didn't Tamper With Surveillance Cameras-

The  Lekki Concession Company, operators of the Lekki toll gate, has revealed that they did not tamper with the Surveillance Camera at the Lekki Tollgate facility during the shooting of the #ENDSARS protesters in Lekki.

Making this disclosure on Tuesday, the Managing Director of the company Abayomi Omomuwa, explained that the Surveillance camera stopped working as a result of a bad network.

According to the concession company, it would have been impossible to get the footage if the surveillance camera was tampered with.

“I can confirm that inside here is the video footage that our surveillance camera was able to record for October 20.

“The major cause why the camera stopped working was network.

“I can confirm categorically we never, ever, tampered with the surveillance camera. That is why we can get the footage.

“It remained there until about 8:00 p.m. when it was tampered with and we couldn’t get anything," LCC boss said.

It will be recalled that following the agitation of the #ENDSARS protesters, the Lagos state government set up a panel to investigate the alleged brutality of men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police force.

While there were allegations that the management of LCC removed the surveillance camera at the tollgate before the attack on peaceful #ENDSARS protesters, LCC however came out to state categorically that the items removed at the tollgate were not surveillance cameras.

The LCC also stated that footage of the event on the 20 of October was available to be presented with the panel.
