Lekki Shooting: 'Pro-Biafra Group Leader, Nnamdi Kanu Of IPOB Has Been Vindicated' - Counsel

As Nigerians are yet to get over the shocking Lekki Shooting which happened on Tuesday evening, Aloy Ejimakor the Special Counsel to Biafra political activist, Nnamdi Kanu and the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has seemingly asserted that the outspoken leader of the separatist organization has been "over-vindicated", AllNews reports.

Ejimakor aired his opinion via his known Twitter handle on Wednesday.

It’s hard to say this but has @MaziNnamdiKanu not been vindicated? Even over-vindicated!#LekkiMassacre & still counting!

Solution: Beyond #EndSARS, you must also END that LIE you all know is the ROOT of these EVILS. If you don’t, we die here!

The outlawed IPOB and its self-exiled leader, Kanu are canvassing for the secession and sovereignty of Eastern Nigeria.

IPOB, which was founded in 2012, has been rigorous with its agitation via social media.

It would be recalled that in June 2020, Kanu told the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration to "invite us to negotiate peaceful exit of Biafra".

Nigeria protests

Security agents had shot at peaceful #EndSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, South-West Nigeria.

The demonstrators defied the curfew announced by the Lagos State government on Tuesday.

While observers claim about 20 lives of peaceful protesters were cut short, authorities in Nigeria's commercial hub insist no life was lost.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos, imposed a state-wide curfew on Tuesday in response to growing protests over police brutality in Nigeria.

Demonstrators have taken part in daily protests across the country for roughly two weeks over widespread claims of harassment and extortion by a controversial police unit known as the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

SARS was dissolved on October 11, but protesters (mostly young people) are demanding further police reform and good governance.

The protests have turned violent in most parts of the state.

In the interim, 19 hours after the Lekki shooting incident in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari has remained completely silent.
