The United States, on Thursday, strongly condemned the violent attack on unarmed demonstrators in Lekki by military personnel.
The US Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, via his verified Twitter account, called on the Federal Government to hold the people involved accountable for their actions.

He also sent his condolences to the families of victims involved in the violence.
He tweeted, “The United States strongly condemns incidents of military forces firing on unarmed protestors in Lagos. Those involved should be held to account under the law. We extend our condolences to the victims of the violence and their families. #EndSARS”

AllNews earlier reported that there were outcries on social media after the protesters at the Lekki toll gate came under heavy gunfire, shortly after Sanwo-Olu announced a 24-hour curfew, due to perceived violence.
