Team Nigeria's Favour Chukwuka Ofili
Favour Chukwuka Ofili was born on December 31, 2002. She is a lover of field and track events.
Ofili is a track and field athlete from Nigeria who specializes in 200 and 400-meter sprints. She won silver in the 400 meters at the 2019 African Games. In addition, she is the African Youth Champion in the 200 and 400 meters for 2019.
She competed in the 4×100 m and 4×400 m relays for her country at the 2019 World Relays in Yokohama at the age of 16.
After winning both the 200 and 400 meters races at the 2019 African U18 and U20 Athletics Championships, she was named female athlete of the meet. In both events, she recorded personal best times.
Education
She completed both her primary and secondary education at The University of Port Harcourt Primary and High School.
Career
Favour Ofili started her career at the age of 16 as a track and field athlete. After winning both the 200 and 400 meters races at the 2019 African U18 and U20 Athletics Championships, she was named the female athlete of the meet.
In both of her events, she achieved the 2019 Nigerian Championships, she finished second behind Patience George and raced the 400 meters in sub 52 seconds for the first time.
She ran a lifetime best in 51.68 seconds to place second at the African Games, qualifying for the 2019 IAAF World Championships in Doha. She served as the Nigerian team's captain (Kemi Francis, Patience George, Blessing Oladoye, Favour Ofili) on personal records.
