Life: Rosy Meurer, The Actress Who Is Being Accused Of Snatching Tonto Dikeh's Husband

Life: Rosy Meurer, The Actress Who Is Being Accused Of Snatc

Social media has been abuzz for the past two weeks following the discovery of Nigerian actress, Rosy Meurer's entanglement with Olakunle Churchill, the estranged husband of fellow actress, Tonto Dikeh to who she referred to as a 'brother and a mentor'.

The 29-year-old Gambian-born Nigerian actress became a popular trend on Twitter and Instagram after Churchill took to his social media space on Monday, February 15 to address his former personal assistant, Meurer as Mrs Churchill on the occasion of her birthday.

In August 2015, Tonto Dikeh and Olakunle Churchill got married in Rumukani, Rumukwuta, Rivers State after they met each other at a birthday party of Churchill's brother in 2014 and in 2016, they had a son together after which they divorced the following year, July 2017.

After their divorce in 2017, Tonto in an interview with the Media Room Hub said she was aware that Meurer is the reason Churchill abandoned her and his son, and she alleged that she has been sleeping with her husband.

She also revealed that her husband bought Meurer a birthday car gift which is obvious beyond a superior to the subordinate relationship. But Meurer in her defence vehemently denied the allegation, saying critics should get their facts right claiming that her relationship with Churchill was work-related and described him as her mentor.

She added that accusing her of sleeping with Churchill was like saying she sleeps with her brother. However, Tonto maintained that Meurer and Churchill’s relationship was not just a mere affair but a full-fledged relationship.

Also, in 2019, Tonto in a video recorded in her studio tearfully revealed how Rosaline Meurer crashed her marriage while recounting how his ex-husband battered her severally before the marriage ended in divorce. But Nigerians on social media criticise her and asked her to stop blaming another woman for her failed marriage.

Surprisingly, four years after the divorce, it appears that both the mentor Churchill and the mentee Roseline became bored with hiding the true nature of their relationship and wanted the world to know that they are officially married.

So, Churchill on Monday, February 15, 2021, in a birthday message penned to Meurer on his official Instagram handle @olakunlechurchill, addressed Meurer as Mrs Churchill.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote “A special sunrise, on this precious day, a great woman was born. During my hard times when depression would have taken the better part of me, you were my bedrock.

“When it was like the whole world was against me, you stood by me, even took some missiles because of me. When I thought I lost it all, you encouraged me to hope in God that He will give me back all l have lost.

In another post, the businessman and philanthropist penned another birthday wish for his young wife and tagged it “two years and stronger.’’

He wrote, “May God bless you today on your birthday and every day after. May you be comforted by His presence in your life. You have brought so much happiness, laughter, and wisdom into our life. Raising a glass in celebration of you, and sending many best wishes for your birthday. #twoyearsandstronger.”

This triggered a lot of comments and reactions from social media users as the revelation stirred controversy from some Nigerians who criticised her for marrying Churchill after she had earlier debunked being in a relationship with the businessman, whom she referred to as a “brother and mentor”.

While some accused her of being a husband snatcher, others cursed her, saying karma will pay her a visit sooner than she thinks for making her fellow woman go through pain.

Responding to fan questions, Meurer said she never dated Olakunle Churchill when he was still married to Tonto Dikeh rather their relationship was based on friendship because he sees him as a brother who cared so much for her and her siblings like his younger ones.

When asked why she accepted to date Churchill even after his marriage packed up and considering the fact that she was close to Tonto too, she said it's destiny and she can't question it.

She, however,  revealed that Churchill proposed to her two years ago and they got married a year ago before it became known to the public.

Prior to the question and answer segment, Meurer has taken to her Instagram page a day after her birthday to blasts all her critics who condemned and cursed her for getting married to another woman's husband.

She wrote, “Thank you so so much to everyone that took out time to pray for me on my very special day. I see you all and words cannot express how appreciative I am for all the love you showered on me.

“I thank you for spicing up my day with all y’all’s hilarious comments. I am happy I was able to keep you busy as we all know how hard it is to get jobs and how so many of you are battling idleness.

“I’m glad you all had the opportunity to share your ideas and theories on my day. Without you guys this life for no balance. Indeed my day wouldn’t have been the same without you all.

“Everything you all wished upon me, I wish the same to you all individually. May God bless you all It’s all LOVE from this end. I am honoured.”

Rosy Meurer Refutes Claims Of Ever Dating Churchill Before Divorce

On Saturday, February 20, Rosy Maurer took to her Instagram page to share a video where she was seen saying she is not responsible for Tonto Dikeh's failed marriage adding that she started dating Churchill after he broke up with Tonto.

She said;'' Mr Churchill's failed marriage has nothing to do with me. The same way you guys read and heard online that I was the reason for his broken marriage was the same way I read and heard online that I was the reason for his broken marriage.

Before then, I never knew that the relationship I had with him before he got married was a problem after he got married. I didn't get the memo. No one confronted me. I was never aware of such. Whatever it is that happened in his marriage, I had no knowledge of.  The same way you read online about what happened is the same way I read online what happened.

I mean, I knew him. Why would I wait for him to get married before I would start playing hide and seek? It doesn't make sense.

Commenting on her relationship with Churchill prior to his divorce, the actress reiterated that he was like a brother to her even though they are not related by blood.

I did say that Mr Churchill was like a brother to me but he is not my blood. My mother didn’t give birth to him. We don’t share the same father. That statement he is like a brother to me simply meant he is family. Mr Churchill has always been there for my family and I and it has always been that way.”

However, she noted that the marriage happened according to the will of God and not by her doing.

"After his marriage crisis and after he got divorced, I was still there. I never left. Why will accusations and people talking make me leave? Leave to where? I never left. I never abandoned him.

"Obviously, he was a different person. Not much fun, not the normal fun bobbly Mr Churchill that we used to play with and used to know. He was just off, devastated, broken, frustrated. His mind was never there. You could tell he had stuff on his mind. It was what it was.

"Gradually days passed, months passed, years passed, life took its course. Destiny happened. What I was accused of became my reality and my fate. What would be, would be.

"You cannot change it. You cannot force it. I am not God. I mean, it just happened. I let God's will take place in my life. I never forced myself on him. It just happened that he became more than a brother. He became a lifetime partner''.

After the video went viral, Elsie Okpocha, wife of popular Nigerian comedian, Bright 'Basketmouth' Okpocha, took a jab at Rosy Meurer for referring to her husband as "Mr Churchill".

Elsie who took to her Instagram stories to question her motive wonder why Rosy kept calling her husband "Mr Churchill" in the video.

She, however, concluded that maybe Rosy was ashamed to address him as her husband following lots of criticism she's receiving.

She wrote, “Mr Churchill this, Mr Churchill that… Aunty say ‘my husband’ naaa, abi are you ashamed to call him that??????? Wahala just be like a bicycle.”

Amidst criticism of her relationship entanglement with Tonto Dikeh's ex-husband, Meurer took to her Instagram page to dish out relationship advice to her fans.

She wrote, “relationship doesn’t last because of the good times. They last because the hard times were handled with love and care.”

But now coming out to advice fans on relationships tips is another twist to the whole brouhaha because it just a few days after her relationship saga broke on the internet.
