The 'E Go Better' crooner did not have it rosy growing up. While he was young, he had a massive lump that grew on his chest, it took surgery to get rid him of it after several visits to different hospitals.

Upon recovering from that, his mother was later discovered that he could not walk. Tetuila was taken to different hospitals and it was affirmed that he would remain crippled. However, he miraculously started walking again months later.

Tetuila started out his career as a member of the now-defunct hip hop group, 'The Remedies' in the mid-90s alongside Eedris Abdulkareem and Eddy Montana. The Remedies enjoyed commercial acclaim in the 90s and early 2000s when they were the biggest Nigerian music group.

Via Instagram, Tetuila wrote, “Yes, it is true that myself and Tic from Ghana are both suing Wizkid and DJ Tunez at the Nigerian Federal High Court for violating our intellectual property rights from our song Fefe N’ Efe. Our lawyers have advised us not to say more than that."

Tony Tetuila claims that Wizkid and DJ Tunez violated the copyright law as Afro singer Wizkid used a lyric from Tetuila’s song Fefe ‘n’ efe while recording the song “Gbese.”

A court order was sent to Wizkid on August 26th, 2019 after the release of the song in May 2019. The court order asked Wizkid to pay the sum of N30million, or 35% of revenue generated should be shared with Tony Tetuila and Tic Tac.

Tetuila Vs Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu

Before the Lagos State gubernatorial election in 2019, Tetuila recorded a song for the All Progressives Congress candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. He also shot a video for the song. The singer was accused of receiving payment to campaign for the politician with his music.
In a chat with Punch, he explained that he didn’t collect money from Sanwo-Olu but as part of his contribution to the campaign. He said, “I am a member of the APC; so, I did the song as my contribution to the campaign of the incoming governor of Lagos State, Sanwo-Olu. People shouldn’t forget that I am a politician too; I contested the state House of Assembly election in Kwara State in 2015.”
