Paris Saint-Germain took a significant step towards clinching their 11th Ligue 1 title with a hard-fought 2-1 win against bottom side Angers on Friday.

Kylian Mbappe was the hero for PSG, scoring a brace in the first half to put the French champions on 75 points with just six games remaining in the season, extending their lead to 11 points at the top of the table.

From the start, it was clear that Angers would have a tough time against a dominant PSG side. Mbappe opened the scoring in the 9th minute, slotting the ball past Angers' goalkeeper Paul Bernardoni after initially fluffing a volley. The French forward then doubled PSG's advantage in the 26th minute with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a through ball from Lionel Messi.

Despite Messi coming close to adding another goal before half-time, Bernardoni made a crucial save to keep Angers in the game. Angers' hopes of a comeback were dashed as Mbappe continued to torment their defense with his blistering pace and skill.

Angers managed to pull one back in the 86th minute with a close-range effort from Sada Thioub, but it was too little, too late for the struggling team, who are almost certain to be relegated to Ligue 2. PSG held on to their lead and secured a vital victory, moving closer to another Ligue 1 title.

With six games left to play, PSG now have an 11-point lead over second-placed Olympique de Marseille, who have a tough match against Olympique Lyonnais on Sunday. PSG's title rivals, RC Lens and Monaco, are also trailing by a significant margin, making PSG the clear favorites to lift the Ligue 1 trophy once again.

The win against Angers puts PSG in a commanding position as they continue their pursuit of domestic glory.
