Likely Things Buhari Will Address In Farewell Speech

Buhari

Ahead of the handover ceremony on May 29, 2023, to usher in the new administration, Muhammadu Buhari will on Sunday, May 28, 2023,  deliver his farewell message to Nigerians.

Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement he signed on Saturday evening titled ‘President Buhari broadcasts to the nation.’

“President Muhammadu Buhari will make a farewell broadcast as President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on Sunday, May 28, at 7 am.”

Therefore, he advised television, radio stations and other electronic media outlets to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority and Radio Nigeria for the broadcast.”

It has been eight years of President Muhammadu Buhari's administration under the APC grinding to a halt on May 29, 2023.

Indeed, Nigerians have 'enjoyed' eight years of several promises whether fulfilled or not.

In the ensuing anxiety regarding the likely high points of his address tomorrow, Nigerians will, among other things expect Buhari to:

  • Clear the air on the much-talked-about status and implications of the Chinese loans in his aftermath
  • Give an update on the fate of the remaining Chibok girls in the custody of the Boko Haram insurgents
  • Comment on the magic that Bola Ahmed Tinubu brings on board to clear the 8 years of debatable achievements of the APC regime under his watch
