Former French champions could not defend their title and did not go far in the Champions League. After an assessment of these performances, the club released a statement.

Gourvennec, who replaced Christophe Galtier last summer, won the Champions Trophy and led the team into the knockout stages of the Champions League where they were eliminated by Chelsea.
Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca has been reported to be the next coach by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
