Liverpool, Chelsea set to light up Wembley stadium in Carabao Cup final

Liverpool, Chelsea set to light up Wembley stadium in Caraba

By Izuchukwu Okosi

Ahead of Sunday's Carabao Cup final at the Wembley stadium, football coaches, players, administrators and writers are anticipating a fitting final between two teams coached by astute tacticians.

Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp will step down at the end of the season while Pochettino will be looking to make amends for a rather disappointing season so far.

As the debate rumbles on over the team that deserves to lift the title today (25 February 2024), there is talk of a possible replacement even for Pochettino at Chelsea who has fervently asked not to be judged based on title wins or lack of it.

The Reds on paper seems the the more equipped side to claim the first title of the year but Klopp have as many as 11 team players out injured with Mohamed Salah reportedly not got enough for the final as disclosed by some of the English newspapers.

Winning the Carabao Cup (or EFL Cup) as it is preferably called in the UK, will be big incentive for any of the juggernauts and a backdoor to European club competition next season

With Chelsea's reassuring display against Manchester City that earned the champions a 1-1 draw last season, Liverpool may not be much of a herculean task after all.

The Blues could also be boosted by the likely return to fitness of Brazilian defender Thiago Silva who has been out injured.

Souls Chelsea be the winners, they would have arrested a run of five straight defeats in the domestic Cup competitions while it will be a befitting send-off for Klopp.

The grudge final between the Reds and the Blues will be a good watch.

Let the best team win.
