Liverpool Hit Five Past Toulouse In Europa League

Liverpool made it three wins from three in UEFA Europa League Group E following a 5-1 victory over Toulouse at Anfield.

Eight changes were made by manager Jurgen Klopp, yet the hosts proved too strong for last season’s French Cup winners.

Diogo Jota opened the scoring when he skipped past a couple of defenders and coolly fired home in the ninth minute.

Toulouse responded just seven minutes later when Thijs Dallinga beat Liverpool's high line to race towards goal and slot in a well-deserved equaliser.

The hosts then made amends in the 30th minute as stand-in captain Alexander-Arnold crossed for Wataru Endo to head home his maiden goal for the club.

Liverpool added a third shortly before half-time when Darwin Nunez struck a venomous shot into the roof of the net.

Midway through the second half the Reds made it 4-1 when Ryan Gravenberch scored a rebound after Nunez had somehow struck the post.

Substitute Salah then rounded off the scoring with a close-range shot that crashed in off the bar in stoppage time.

The win means Liverpool are now on the cusp of the last 16 as they are clear at the summit of the group with nine points from their first three outings.
